FAQ
Q1. What is Marine BizTV and how do we receive it? Is it a pay channel; if not how much should I pay to receive signals? How small a dish can I use?
Marine BizTV is a sector specific channel related to the Maritime Community. Currently it is a free to air channel so all you need to do to receive the signal is to install a 8 or 10 feet Metallic or Fiber Glass Dish (The Satellite Dish will normally come with a LNB (Low Noise Block) fixed to it.) and a digital receiver-decoder, this for receiving signals from Thaicom on C band. For KU band (Hotbird) reception you will need to install a 60 to 180 cm Metallic or Fiber Glass Dish (The Satellite Dish will normally come with a LNB (Low Noise Block) fixed to it.) and a digital receiver-decoder.
Q2. Is Marine BizTV accessible only through DTH?
No it is available both on the C band on C-Band: THAICOM 5 (78.5E) as well as KU-Band: HOTBIRD 6 (13.0E)
Q3. Can people in a locality receive signals from a single dish TV?
Yes, ofcourse but each of them will need to have a separate digital receiver and a splitter to split the connection from one dish
Q4. Where can I get a list of all the satellites and satellite channels?
Please visit www.satdx.com
Q5. Will there be change in clarity of picture according to weather conditions?
Yes, in fact on KU band there is a possibility of signal breakage in case of heavy rains
Q6. How can a person in sea access Marine BizTV?
This is possible if you have an auto tracking dish antennae
Q7. The signal drops out regularly. The problem may go away for a while and then it comes back. What's causing it? What can I do if the picture freezes?
There may be a problem with the positioning of the angle of the dish antennae or there may be some obstruction in the signal stream
Q8. We are moving to a different part of the World, can we use our existing direct to home dish and decoder to watch your service or do we have to buy/rent from another distributor?
Yes you can definitely use your existing dish and decoder as long as you are in the footprint area of the satellite.
Q9. In future will your channel become encrypted [pay channel]?
There are no such plans currently.
Q10. I have a question that was not on this list. How do I get an answer? Whom do I contact in case of a complaint?
Please feel free to email us at info@marinebiztv.com
