Marine BizTV, the world’s first global, free to air maritime channel was officially launched at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Dubai. An extra dimension was added to the maritime media by the largest ever convergence of the maritime fraternity.
The launch was accompanied by dazzling performance of artists from both east and west, much to the delight of the enthralled audience, reflecting the diversity of Dubai.
The gathering was addressed by Mr. Sohan Roy, the visionary and brain behind Marine BizTV. The channel along with logo and theme music was launched by the chief guest of the mega event Dr. Walter Stovhase, the torch bearer of naval architecture and ship building, an accomplished professor and one of the initiators of department of ship technology, CUSAT. Efforts of Dr. Walter Stovhase have helped to build a new generation of naval architects.
Renowned members of many prominent institutions and societies including Society of Marine Industries, UK, British shipping, IFAW, The Royal Institution of Naval Architects, Intermanager (International Ship Managers’ Association) UK, The German Maritime Arbitration Association (GMAA) Germany, International Maritime Services Inc. Hong Kong, Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)UK, Nordic Maritime, The Nautical Institute, LMAA (London Maritime Arbitrators Association), Maritime Archaeological and Historical Society (MAHS), IAPH (Institute of Ports and Harbour) were among our distingushed guests.
A unique password concept of Marine BizTV was unveiled by Mr.Devdas Felix, Director International Bunkering and Mr. Erwin Bamps, Executive Manager, Gulf Craft Inc and Mr. John Erwing Commercial Director, Dubai Maritime City. Adding to the colors of the launch ceremony was the ‘Marine BizTV Video Awards’. The award show began with the screening of IMO’s award winning documentary ‘Invaders from the Sea’ screened for the first time outside UNO.
The Meganite Gallery will showcase a vibrant collection of the launch function. The launch function has already been telecast on both our Web TV and Satellite TV which can be further viewed from the Archives.
