Damco set to scale greater heights with new appointment

Singapore, 2 August 2010 – Leading 3PL Damco recently announced the appointment of Erez Agmoni as its Regional Airfreight Manager in Asia Pacific.

In this position, Erez is responsible for expanding Damco’s growing airfreight business in the region.

"I am excited to be part of a dynamic and international global logistics company which has big plans for its airfreight business. There is a huge demand for competitive airfreight solutions in Asia Pacific. Damco is well-positioned to build stronger corridors and products to help our customers alleviate issues with limited airfreight space," said Erez.

According to Erez, Damco can customize solutions to meet every customer's needs.

"When our customers have urgent shipments, Damco has chartered planes to help them meet deadlines. Damco can also offer airfreight either as a single competitive product or as part of a multi-modal solution. This is especially beneficial when airfreight rates peak due to huge demand for limited airfreight space," continued Erez.

Indeed, with a strong global network, Damco holds a good track record in multi-modal solutions, allowing its supply chain managers to customise sea-air solutions, which are cheaper than airfreight and have a shorter lead time compared to ocean freight.

Erez is based in Thailand and reports to Christine Miller, Chief Operations Officer for Damco in Asia Pacific.

"We have for some time been focusing our efforts in trade lanes that have the most significance for our customers. We have also invested in experienced airfreight trade lane managers to further strengthen our airfreight product to offer comprehensive and competitive solutions to our customers. I am confident that under Erez's leadership, we will reach our aggressive growth targets for our airfreight business in 2011,” said Christine.

Before joining Damco, Erez was a Business Development Manager with Gulf Agency Company (GAC) where he was instrumental in propelling the organisation into a Top 20 air business in Thailand. Erez also has more than a decade’s experience in developing the cargo business for EL AL Israel Airlines in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
