Hottinger is a German Company. They develop components for electrical measurement of mechanical quantities. They are introducing a marine industry product torque transducers to the Indian Marine Market. This is a new technology comes from the automotive market and offers some unique features like you can measure the torque directly inline of the drive shaft. This can be done in very high measurement uncertainty in addition to that it is possible to measure and to analyze torsional vibrations. In additions to these torque transducers they also produce and develop pressure components for the electrical measurement of mechanical quantities like strain gauges, displacement transducers, force transducers, pressure transducers and other components like data acquisition systems and related software.

HBM offers measurement solutions for the electrical measurement of mechanical quantities in the industry as well as R & D. The Components and systems are used in fields of application such as experimental stress analysis, production control, power test benches, road tests, material and function tests.

The video takes us through the products displayed by Aimil Ltd in SMM India 09.

Working in collaboration with proof technic Germany for providing condition monitoring and laser alignment services, Aimil has products which deal with marine industry that can forecast the breakdown of machines and can also eliminate the conventional method for doing the alignment of shaft, from propeller to engine and gear box.

The stall also illustrates simple instrument (single level) to online systems (level 2) and expert system where there is no man power requirement to go and collect the data. Its online system allows to get the data in the control room and diagnose its failures.

Moreover, there is shaft alignment system for the marine industry where one can check the banding of the shaft. It can eliminate the use of piano via conventional method and can also reduce the time and increase the accuracy of the alignment. There are also basic systems for shaft alignments which can be used for any rotating machine were its power is transferred from one machine to another.
